SHRM-UPRM 5333 Chapter launched an educational-community project, "SHRM Ignite in Sports Management", acknowledged as the first student chapter in Puerto Rico promoting sports management certification.
We focused on career development-engagement based on SHRM-Model of Competency 2021 (SHRM BASK). Career Development activities included networking with SHRM Puerto Rico Chapter representatives, COVID-19 and its impact on working women conference, also the first HR Connect Competition. Biases Diversity and Inclusion Workshop and HRM in Sports Management events.
Received the recognition from The Boeing Company due to our outstanding performance obtaining a $1,000 donation.
Our achievements registered an upward trend in memberships; adding value in our career development program. Surpassing the pandemic scenario, sustaining the educational and interpersonal needs of our student chapter members, gaining knowledge about Diversity and Inclusion and developing leadership skills for the workforce.

Mentoring Program 2020-2021
with
San Jorge Children & Women’s Hospital


Currently, in the 2020-2021 academic year, SHRM-UPRM Student Chapter 5333 is working (virtually) with the San Jorge Children and Women's Hospital of San Juan, PR.
The purpose of this Mentoring Program is to provide the opportunity to promote the acquisition and development of the competencies of the human resources management professional according to the SHRM Competency Model.
Each student is collaborating in a volunteer capacity in projects that are developed as a team in topics of interest to the San Jorge Children's and Women's Hospital.
The teams are divided with the following projects:

Training and Development
Each student's voluntary hours through in-service learning will allow them to accumulate the practice hours required by the SHRM-CP professional certification.

Our strategic plans on chapter operations, fundraising, community outreach, assurance of learning supports chapter members competencies acquisition on Business Acumen, Leadership & Navigation, Communication, Relationship Management, and HR Expertise.
